SEAN MAKHULI

Born in Columbia, South Carolina to a Palestinian father and a southern mama, Sean Makhuli’s music is as diverse and rich as his background. When asked what kind of music he makes, he responds, “imagine James Blake, D’Angelo, and Bon Iver had a musical baby...I’d be that baby’s cousin.” 2024 turned out to be the biggest year of his career so far, releasing his first full length album “I Wouldn’t Change A Thing”, as well as releasing his heart-wrenchingly soulful single “The Other Side” which found its way onto national television on CBS for a very important NCIS promo saying farewell to the great David McCallum. 2025 is looking to be a monumental year with the release of his new single “Make It Out”, which is already making a buzz online within just a few days of its release. Ultimately his desire is that his music would help bring people together and bring life to their souls.

MOST INFLUENTIAL ALBUM

good kid, m.A.A.d city| KENDRICK LAMAR

I remember driving around Los Angeles in my 1993 Lincoln Town Car, with only a few dollars and this album to my name. It was an old car so there wasn’t any bluetooth or any of that, just had this CD spinning over and over. I especially loved challenging myself with learning Kendrick’s more intricate rhyme schemes and lyrics, and loved the pure RAWNESS of this album. The first time I heard the song  “m.A.A.d. city” was a musical moment like I had never experienced before, nor have since, to hear someone put it all on the record like that, man... I’m definitely a different type of artist than Kendrick, but there is something in the essence and excellence of this album that has been influential on me and my music to my core.
