MOST INFLUENTIAL ALBUM
Spirit | Jewel
This album really inspired me to make a difference with my music. It made me want to make dope art that also impacted people's lives for the better. Jewel's Spirit Album was very influential for me, as her lyrics spoke to me in a very powerful way. Especially her song "Hands", which reminded me that no matter what the world wanted me to be, my hands were my own, and I could use them to create whatever I wanted. The resilient and irreverent tone of her lyrics, mixed with her vulnerable willingness to be open and loving at the same time, really resonated with my spirit. Jewel also has one of my favorite vocal techniques, with her vibratos, and yodel-like takes. She's had a huge influence on me
