Cary Brothers
Born and raised in Nashville, Cary Brothers began writing songs at thirteen before moving to Los Angeles, where he became a fixture in the influential Hotel Cafe singer-songwriter scene.
Brothers gained national attention when “Blue Eyes” appeared on the Grammy-winning, Platinum-selling Garden State soundtrack. Since then, four of his releases have reached #1 on the iTunes Music Singer-Songwriter chart, and more than 100 of his songs have been featured in film and television, including Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries, and No Hard Feelings. He also co-wrote a song performed by Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton for T-Mobile’s 2022 Super Bowl campaign.
Brothers has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Late Show and toured internationally with Sara Bareilles, Brandi Carlile, and Imogen Heap. His collaboration with Tiësto included a remix of “Ride,” which became an international club hit, and an original song for the album Kaleidoscope.
In 2023, Brothers made his feature-film acting debut in MGM’s A Good Person, performing “Stardust” opposite Florence Pugh. The song received a Hollywood Music in Media Award nomination.
He later served as Executive Producer and Music Director of the sold-out Garden State 20th Anniversary Concert at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre, continuing a career built at the intersection of music and storytelling.

The album that influenced me the most comes from Peter Gabriel, an artist on my musical Mount Rushmore. “In Your Eyes," arguably the most beautiful love song ever written, was the gateway drug into his very distinctive artistic voice. For a kid growing in Nashville surrounded by mostly country music, Gabriel’s music felt like an escape into a mysterious new world of both the most intimate stories of human connection as well as massive cinematic landscapes, blending rhythmic organic instrumentation with a New Wave synth sensibility. In one collection of songs, he hit all the right emotional notes for me and cracked my heart wide open.
